If You didn’t get all of that, here are step by step Instructions

Capturing the Screen Shot

You can capture anything that shows up on your monitor.  It could be a website or perhaps a view of a particular program you are using.  Capturing the image is quite simple.  You use the “Print Screen” key to copy the image into the clipboard of the computer.  Simple as that, just push the button that says “print screen” and the image is on the clipboard!  By the way, on my computer the button says “prt sc”.

Pasting it onto an Image File

Now that you have copied the image into the clipboard, you need to “paste” it in the program you use to work on your images.  I happen to use  It is a simple and free little program.  Perhaps you are using Photoshop or another program.  It doesn’t matter, they all basically do the same.

Open your program and choose “new image”.  From there just do a simple “paste” and your image is there!  Now, that was easy.  Let’s do a little work on your new image.

How to do a Screen Shot

Crop the image to the way you
want to present it on your BLOG

For instance, when I create a screen shot from the internet, I get rid of all of the heading stuff at the top.  No one needs to see that!  Sometimes, instead of showing the entire screen capture, you only want to show a portion.  This is where cropping comes in handy.   Can you see the difference?

Add Whatever you want to the image

Now you can Add whatever you want to try to point things out and show what is important on the image.  Here are some things I have done to this image.  Highlight an area with a rectangle, draw some arrows and add Text to explain things.

Your Image is now ready to save and upload to your BLOG!

It’s as simple as that!  Like a lot of things, once you learn how, it is easy!  The difficult thing is learning where to “LEARN HOW”.

I have found a company that has done just that, they have given me the opportunity to “LEARN HOW” and make some money building “My Own Money Making Website!  The really fantastic thing is that they let you sign up and get started for FREE.  Yes Free, They don’t want your credit card information or anything.

  2. Great tutorial…a suggestion I would make is for those who are looking for the Print Screen button, it can sometimes be labeled “prt sc”. I know my dad is not knowledgeable about computers and I had to explain that to him. I can’t wait to start adding more images to my blog also.
